Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth are extracted for the following two reasons: either the wisdom teeth have already become impacted, or the wisdom teeth could potentially become problematic if not extracted.

Some of these potential problems are because of the presence of properly grown-in wisdom teeth that are infected due to food particles that can get easily trapped in the jaw area behind the wisdom teeth. It can be a challenge to regularly brush and floss behind these teeth and can render the cleaning process ineffective. Such infections may be frequent, causing considerable pain and can pose medical dangers.

Another reason to have a wisdom tooth removed is if the tooth has grown in improperly, causing the tongue to brush up against it. It can also push against other teeth and cause them to shift, ruining all the hard work you’ve spent keeping your other teeth clean and beautiful.
